My apartment finally got water back! Yay for that. I am thankful to my friends Amanda and Ed who let me stay with them during that fiasco. It was so nice to get to spend some time with them. They are in the process of adopting their daughter and usually between their schedules and mine we rarely get to spend time together, so this was certainly nice to get caught up and share stories and laughs.

Some very exciting news this week... my teammate Jessie Galli was selected as Paralympian of the Year! The full story can be read here. We are all so happy for her! She is extremely well deserving of this honor. She has always been a dedicated, hard-working athlete and this past year she captured 3 world records (in the 200m, 400m and 800m) at one competition. Congrats Jess!

It's times like these when I stop to think about how absolutely incredible being a part of the U of I team really is. I am a part of a team with an outstanding coach. While track is an individual sport, you can still learn so much from each other. We all constantly push each other to that next level in addition to that, my teammates are some of the best friends I've had. It really is remarkable. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true.
